Carbon Ceramic Brakes at Track safe or expensive mistake?

I know a lot of the Porsche guys swap out their ceramic brakes for steel since they had a lot of issues with expensive replacements on the track.. The solution seemed to be that the Porsche Pads were to soft and chunked on the track causing damage to the rotors.. Upgrading the pads seemed to be the fix..

How about the Benz Ceramic Brakes? Are they trackable in stock form or is it also suggested to upgrade the pads to handle the higher heat so as not to chunk off and cause damage..
