CLS63 Cat and Res delete help

I am looking for a bit more sound from my CLS63 (5.5TT) and it would seem that the resonator is a good place to start - I am going to go straight pipe.

The car sounds great from the outside but I want to hear it more in the cabin.

I am also considering doing the secondary cats but I can't find any information on what I would need to do. i.e X pipe / Straight through etc. Also, am I correct in thinking that secondary cat delete wont cause any lights to come on or any need for retune and that it is only if I delete the primary cats that would cause this.

Many thanks.

Personally, I would invest in a set of downpipes. It will give you the increased cabin volume you want, it's reversible and a nice building block if your looking to have your car tuned.

A set of downpipes is definitely the way to go. Even simple ones that don't even touch the bridge pipes are so easy to install and will give you an incredible sound and some good power gains coupled with a tune.

Thanks for the replies lads.

I don't particularly want to go the "tuning" route just yet, if at all so I'd prefer to stay away from the downpipes in the meantime.

From what I can gather, the X pipe is the quietest mod, H in the middle and Straight being loudest. It's mainly down low I want the increased v8 burble because as soon as you Rev these things your going too fast.

I don't think X is for me so of the H and Straight, is there any pros and cons over the other?

Another thing I had considered but I can't find any information on is removal of the oem baffles within the rear silencer/mufflers. It's known as the "OEM exhaust mod" in the e92 M3 world and wondered if there's something similar in AMG land?

Cat And Res Help

Last week I removed the resonater and replaced it with an X-pipe.
The difference is minimal at best. I may try straight pipes next.

Just finished installing plugs, RennTECH tune and now the weather isn't cooperating, still haven't taken a test ride.

I stopped installing my K&N filters because, quite frankly, I'm lost.
Dealer want's $91 to install.

Meisterschaft EV muffler and mid-pipes are my next project. This exhaust system is scary!
