Ask RAC3ME. He uses 18" HRE's as his drag wheels.

There are 3 options if you want to modify your tires:

1) You can buy Pirelli Corsa 285 30 19 which is a semi slick tire and it is very good for everyday use.
2) You can go for a 18 inch setup with 11' wide any 5 spoke wheels from Momo or similar. As for tire I experienced Hoosier 315 30 18 and was quite pleased.
3) 16 inch CLK forged wheels. Those are the lightest wheels. as for tires Hoosier 255-60-16 Drag Radials. Those tires are the 1:1 match for the stock size in diameter and your gearbox will be feeling just fine. This this upgrade though you would have to change your AMG rear brake disk and calipers to E350 or CLS350 brake disks and calipers.

I don't get it. How is that possible? With even my stock 285 street tires I have more contact surface area than you do with 225's. And I couldn't get below 2.0

What do you have super low pressure? Must be the fat sidewall...

What did you end up getting?

I'm also looking for 18x11" wheels to put a drag radial on, inexpensive wheels preferred as they won't get a heap of use.
