any differences between 07 and 08 CLS63
Hi all. thinking about buying a CLS63. I have come to the conclusion that an 07 or 08 would be easier to maintain than an 06 CLS55. Does anyone know if there are any differences in 08?
TIA

No, there's not much difference between the two. Both are slow and both are likely to unexpectedly drain your wallet of any stale and unused money that might have accrued there.
Get an 06 supercharged mor get a newer twin turbo model if you like going fast. Otherwise just get a 550.

2006 CLS 55 AMG
Agreed, I wanted a 55 from the beginning due to my prior experience with how the excellent I found the M113 motor to be in my old C55. I did however try a 2008 CLS63 for sale near me before I bought my CLS55, and I hate to say it but the 63 just wasn't as... I guess you could say raw and engaging to drive as I find the 55 to be. It was fast but lacked the violent feeling of acceleration the 55 delivers. The best way I can describe it is it was like the previous generation BMW M3 and M5, sure the M5 had a V10 and 500 something HP, but its torque was seriously lacking at only 383 ft/lbs. The same can be said of the W219 CLS 63, a properly fast car, however lacking in the pin you to your seat sensation department. If I were you I would find a clean, low mile, 1 owner CLS55 AMG. I can promise you it will not disappoint. If you have the cash hell go for a W218 CLS 63 like the other guys said, that is an awesome machine as well. Whatever you decide on purchasing be sure to get an MB dealer to pull the VMI for you and also have the car thoroughly inspected, post any questions here, and do not be afraid to walk away from a car.

I'd get a low mileage CLS55 over a 63 because of the power factor. I drove a CLS63 after I sold my CLS55 and handed the keys over so fast. The dealer thought I wasn't interested but I was like blahhhhhhh I can't feel being pinned against the seat like the 55K did.

^ yes especially once a few simple modifications are on board, violent is an accurate description. Yet in normal traffic it's diving manners are indiscernible from a normal sedan. My CLS55 is a good race for most 1000cc motorcycles yet my 61 year old mother drove it to work for a week while I was out of town and loved it.
A modded CLS55 is like a sledgehammer wearing a tuxedo, the 07-10 CLS63 is like one of those disappointing movie sequels that's just riding the coat-tails of the original.

Yes Sir-Boost-a-Lot, That is what I have always liked about AMG cars over say BMW M cars. Their Jekyll and Hyde ability, if I want to drive like an a** I can but for primary everyday commuting she is perfectly happy being driven normally. The CLS55 is exactly what you described, a sledgehammer, while the W219 CLS63 felt more to me like I was driving a computer, it lacked the mechanical sensation the 55 gives.

What do you guys think? Is there a mechanical reason that this is the case? (Also I was driving the e55 (06) vs the e63 (07) , but I think they're basically the same parts.

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
The 55 is drive by wire on many of the systems which explains the Steering including steering and brakes.
