Problems with pickup at standstill.

Hi Guys...my first post so new to this and to the car.

Got a 2007 CLS63 and having an issue with the transmission.

When its in traffic or the lights for a while in C mode and S i think it does not pick up straight away and 'slips' for a while then kicks in....and can be a bit of a jolt depending where the revs are. This is from a standstill...so it doesn't seem to like to be stuck in gear when its not moving.

Any ideas as to what this could be?

Low on fluid will do that. Hope it's that simple.

You need to get a scanner and check for codes in the TCU, the module that controls the transmission. You also need to look for some very obvious symptoms of loss like oil on the ground under the center of the vehicle or put it on a lift and look at the pan and see if it's wet. I'd urge you to do this asap before the slippage becomes a very expensive standstill.

Thanks....would this not come up on the system messages?

I took it to a garage last night and the guy said that anything wrong would come up on the system messages as he said the car is 'fully computerized'! I so i didn't scan it.

And just a question...if i do get the TCU scanned and there is nothing does that mean that its all OK?

No they do not come up on system messages. Sounds like you need to take it to a dealer b cause your independent mechanic doesn't know much about this vehicle. Take it to a dealer or an indie who KNOWS the vehicles. Ask if he has a pro grade and if he doesn't move on. Good luck
