sl55 wheel/tire questions

Just bought an sl55 a few months back and am ready to get some new wheels.

I am wanting to buy some 20" wheels with a deep lip for the rears and try to get as wide as possible with out the wheel sticking out past the arch.

I have read a couple posts about tires rubbing etc so my question are:

What offset should i be looking at.
What is the widest wheel / tire combo I can put on the rear without rubbing.

depends on the weather
max reasonable width for an SL55 would be 8.5" in the fron (could squeeze 9.0" with some work) and 10.5" in the rear

Most of the SL55/65 etc that we do, we run a 20x9 and 20x11 in the rear.
Running a 255/30/20 and a 305/25/20 in the rear.

With the proper offsets which generally arent a problem, you will not have any rubbing problems.

PM me if you have any questions...

Here is a SL65 we did with 20" HRE 847Rs with those same specs and NO RUBBING

what is considered a proper offset to run a setup like that? Would the offset change for different wheel manufacturers?

Cold hammer did they ever send you the offset to run that set up, I've been tryna find out the exact specs also and Alex boosted they had done that before with no rubbing..I wanna run 19 or 20 inch rims with the widest tire possible without rubbing , my car is lowered on links....Maybe he achieved this on stock height ?

i bought wheels from savini, but they refuse to disclose the offset. there was no rubbing but i will say running 20s with those tire sizes resulted in bent wheels non stop.

im going to be getting new barrels for the wheels here shortly so ill be measuring the offsets or my current wheels. ill post up once i know what they are.
