2006 E55 AMG
Any problem running a slightly narrower setup
This is by no means something that I have to do... just curious if I will run into any potential issues...
I have an 06 e55 AMG with the factory 18x8 / 18x9 wheels
I have a set of aftermarket wheels off my old car that are 18x7.5 / 18x8.5 +35 offset. I am wondering if I can
a) run these wheels on the car even though they are .5in more narrow
b) use the factory 245 tires on the 7.5in rim and 265 on the 8.5in rim.
I love the look of my aftermarket wheels but if it wont work due to safety or performance issues than I dont want to chance it. Any thoughts?
TIA

A) You can bolt them to the car, but they will look more "sunk in". The et is higher on the front and both f/r are narrower. So they wont look great.
B) You can mount those tires on the wheels, but that will be the max width for those wheels.
Important question: will the wheels clear the front calipers?
