How much damage can a tire bead withstand and still be usable? I had some new tires put on today and asked to keep the old tires because they only have 10K miles on them. When I got home and unloaded the tires, I noticed one had a small nick in the bead and another one had a significant chunk taken out (see pic). Are these tires still OK or are they trash?

you can actually see the bead wire to the right side of the tear and that makes the tire no longer usable
