Exclamation CAR IN SHOP, MECHANIC STUMPED! DESPERATELY NEED HELP!

Hello, I have a 2000 S500 that's in the shop right now.

The major problems: The brake lights stopped working over 3 weeks ago. The mechanic installed a new brake light switch, gear shifter (the shifter couldn't get out of park unless it was tapped with a rubber mallet), rear fuse box with SAM and the brake lights STILL don't work. About a week or 2 before this, my key stopped working but after opening it up, it was just a small piece on the front of the circuit board that had detached on one side and needed to be soldered back on. Key works fine now. I need my car back ASAP! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!!

The minor problems: The radio works sporadically and I have to disconnect the battery when I shut the car off for long periods of time or else the battery dies. This was a problem the previous owner knew about but never had diagnosed.

On a side note: Are a brake light switch and a brake lamp switch the same thing?
