YouTuber Gives Rundown on the Rarest AMG Cars of All Time
Most of these AMG offerings have seen less than 100 units produced and cost fortunes.
When it comes to rare cars, AMG wasn’t scared to make only a handful of models to really bring up the uniqueness of a car. They did this to the extent that, it is very likely that no one person would be able to ever seen every one of these cars in their lifetime. Even being a collector, some of these models are so rare we are surprised that the German tuning powerhouse even decided to make them at all.
This list will focus on cars built by AMG once they were officially a part of Mercedes and not cars that AMG built when they were just technically a preferred tuning company. This means cars built in the 90’s and up. Thanks to AMGmeister on YouTube, we get to see this list of rare AMGs and find out a little bit more information about each car. While we won’t be able to cover every single one of the 20 different AMGs in this video, we will go through some of our favorites on the list.
R63 AMG
The first of those being the R63 AMG (W251). This is an obvious first choice of ours because there isn’t really anything quite as bad ass as an AMG-powered mini-van. Imagine being able to pick up the kids from soccer practice with an AWD, 507 HP V8 minivan, which could probably shred a set of tires under a minute. If that’s not unique, we don’t know what is. Not to mention there were less than 200 of these R63’s ever produced.
G63 6×6
Without a doubt one of the most controversial vehicles AMG ever produced. This truck/utility vehicle/military weapon defied all standards of what the brand was willing and capable of creating. Crazy off-road capability far beyond anyone’s expectation plus an extravagant price tag saw this 6×6 shoot to crazy popularity. Even though this beast was created only a couple of years ago, it still is without a doubt one of the rarest AMGs ever with less than 100 units being produced.
CLK GTR
This is one of the few cars in the world that literally is so unique that its hardly believable that AMG thought it would be possible to turn this into a road car. 612 HP from a V12 race engine and a design that looks more spaceship than automobile, you best believe this car was a shocker. Consider the fact that AMG only built road-going versions of the CLK GTR to comply with homologation standards for the FIA GT Championship. Even a blind bat could tell this car is special and with less than 26 of these monsters being produced, it is extremely rare.
