AMG GT 63 S Burns After Flaming-mad Russian YouTuber Gets Fed Up
Too many trips to the local Mercedes repair shop with no progress lead YouTuber to just burn the AMG GT 63 S down to the ground.
Most of the time, cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S leave trails of fire off the line, whether at the drag strip or the track. Sometimes, though, life gives out lemons, including a wonky AMG, and a dealership not so willing to work on it for whatever reason.
What would you do? In the United States, you’d phone up your best lawyer to lay the hammer down on the dealership. In Russia? You do Russian things. YouTuber Mikhail Litvin (via Motor1) decided he was so done with his GT 63 S, it had to burn. Literally.
According to Motor1, Litvin tried to get his broken GT 63 S fixed five times at his nearest Mercedes dealer. However, the dealer didn’t care. Maybe they wanted more money to care. Maybe they just couldn’t be bothered, no matter the price. Thus, Litvin drove his car out to an open field do the inevitable.
“I have been thinking for a long time what to do with my ‘Shark’ after the conflict with Mercedes,” Litvin wrote. “I think the idea is FIRE! That’s it… The end.. I’m not a happy man.”
With a trunk full of plastic gas cans, Litvin pours out his anger and disappointment upon the GT 63 S. Can after can, the fuel for his fire grows until, at last, he pours a trail towards a grill yards away, just to cook some sausages.
Of course, tossing a Zippo onto the fuel trail and having it go up immediately only works in films and games. Litvin tossed his gold Zippo upon the trail a handful of times, trying to look cool with a sausage in his mouth. Instead, he nearly got cooked himself when the final attempt went horribly right.
And just like that, the GT 63 S, like his memories of joy and pain, went up in flames. An extreme way to end the love affair, for sure.
However, that’s not the most Russian way to destroy a Mercedes. Motor1 reported in December 2019 another Russian YouTuber hoisting his AMG G63 into the sky via helicopter, then cutting it loose. Just another day in the Motherland, da komrade?
