The newest Mercedes SLS Roadster had been virtually confirmed ever since camouflaged versions of the car were seen testing. Recently, the super roadster was spotted lapping the Nurburgring with only a few strips of tape covering parts of the car. Almost as if Mercedes wanted the spy photographers to be the one to release the teaser shots of the car in undisquised trim. Why else would the company test it in such a form when the Ring is known as a testing ground by all and photographers are in almost every corner?
The SLS roadster is anticipatd to be launched later this year as a
2012 model. It’s expected that the topless SLS will be also be powered
by the mighty naturally-aspirated 6.3 V8, which has an output of over
560 horsepower and a 480 pound-foot torque rating. With these specs,
0-60 is expected to be in the 4 second range and top speed is touted to
be over 300 kilometers per hour.
