Mercedes-Benz CLA Packs Up to 416 HP for 2024
Mercedes-Benz hails the new 2024 CLA as a ‘trendsetter’ in the compact segment, with fresh styling, features, and powertrain options.
The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA enters another model year with several updates, including new LED High Performance headlamps, new color options, and updated styling.
Moreover, Mercedes-Benz says the new CLA packs three derivations of its four-cylinder engine, two of which bear the AMG badge. Better yet, potential owners who want their CLA to behave like a proper AMG product can opt for the 416-horsepower CLA 45 S.
Updated Styling & Interior Amenities
A new 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 and 250 4MATIC is heading for the North American market, and with it, a mild hybrid four-cylinder application with about 221 horsepower. In addition to an extra 13 horsepower, the new CLA incorporates new fuel-saving technologies like a starter generator that recycles otherwise wasted energy. Moreover, the Mercedes-Benz model’s new ECO Score 3.0 actually evaluates a driver’s behavior to “motivate” them to adopt more eco-friendly practices.
In addition to new technologies, the CLA gets a refreshed front and rear styling and new LED High Performance headlamps. Inside the car, drivers will note a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that Mercedes-Benz installs as standard equipment. In terms of entertainment, the MBUX infotainment system plays media with a Burmester® sound system and Dolby Atmos-powered “immersive audio experience.” Also, the new CLA gets new interior and exterior colors, including new paint colors Hyper Blue and Starling Blue.
Hybrid System, Extra Power, 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive
The new 2024 Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 packs a 2.0L inline four-cylinder AMG mill with an exhaust-gas turbo. As a result, the new AMG CLA 35 produces 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, or 81 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque more than the CLA 250 and 250 4MATIC. Unlike the entry-level CLA 250, the AMG CLA 35 has standard AMG Performance 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive. Consequently, the grippy compact sedan will hit 60 mph in an estimated 4.8 seconds.
RangeTopping Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S boasts 416 HP
The mighty 2024 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S is the range-topping trim in the CLA lineup. Furthermore, the new model produces 416 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque courtesy of an AMG four-cylinder powerplant and its twin-scroll, roller-bearing-mounted turbocharger. As a result, the diminutive sports sedan will hit 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds, according to Mercedes-Benz.
