BMW Flips at the Nurburgring in Front of Officials

If there’s ever a time not to stuff your car into a wall at the Nurburgring, it would probably be when a course marshal and five other cars are behind you. But this is a BMW driver we are talking about, so anything goes. Coming wide off a turn, this 3-Series slides in the grass, over corrects, and then shoots across the track into the armco. The resulting impact flips the BMW completely over, before it finally rests upright on all four wheels. We know that BMWs are widely used on the ‘Ring, but their spins and crashes on this track have almost become as synonymous with crashes as Mustangs leaving car shows.

This type of crash is easily avoided though. If you regularly go to tracks and find you’ve gone too fast into a corner, simply ride it out. Slowly steer back towards the paved stuff. Doing a little bit of landscaping with your front bumper is far better than wrecking a car. This tip can also be used on the road, and is especially true when it is raining.
