Every time Brabus touches a classic Mercedes-Benz, it becomes a mechanical masterpiece.

Brabus earned its reputation as a top-notch aftermarket tuning company with a focus on building powerful and high-performance Mercedes-Benzes. But with their Brabus Classic division they have shown that their talent and precision expands to carefully and faithfully restoring and refining some of Mercedes-Benz’ classic cars. The results are restomod cars that seamlessly fuse a reverence for detail and history with an eye for modern innovation.

The Process

To create these bespoke custom cars, Brabus undergoes a painstaking process for each vehicle, and takes their time to get each detail correct. In fact, each of these restomod Benzes takes between 1,500 to 4,000 man hours to build. The first step in to take the car and completely dissemble it, tearing it down to the last nut and bolt. Then each part is cataloged. They go through each part to see what can be used, and those parts are then restored to mint condition.

Meanwhile, the body is stripped and repainted after undergoing a primer coat, using paint that matches the original color. Engine techs strip down and rebuild the engine, and adding new brakes and suspension. Next they recondition the interior with the help of an in-house upholstery shop and carpenters. They work to create, or more accurately, recreate the authentic interior details. The finished product is nothing less than perfection.
