MKB Gives CLS 63 AMG A Terminal Velocity Of 211mph

MKB Gives CLS 63 AMG A Terminal Velocity Of 211mph

Feel like your CLS63 AMG is too portly to give those BMW M5s the spanking they deserve? Tuning firm MKB has a package that ought to cure those blues.

MKB works their tuning magic to give AMG’s 5.5 liter twin turbocharged V8 an additional 140 horsepower. That brings the CLS 63 AMG an output of 700 horsepower. Torque output gets a similar hefty increase, from 590 lb-ft to almost 740 lb-ft. With these kinds of figures, it’s not surprising that the four-door coupe sprints to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds: not a bad time for a heavy car like the CLS. Makes you wonder though how much punishment the drivetrain can take.

Chris Harris Drives the CLS 63 Wagon Smoking and Sideways

To think there was a time when the wagon was the official vehicle of the soccer mom. The words “performance” and “wagon” couldn’t even be put in the same sentence without dripping sarcasm. Things have changed. Strangely, the soccer moms have moved to on to less efficient and utilitarian CUV and SUV market, leaving the […] More »

RENNtech’s 700hp CLS63 Gets Driven By Matt Farah

700hp. Let that sink in for a second. For comparison, the average, run-of-the-mill CLS 500 makes 400hp. Even when AMG gets their hands on it, they only see fit to tune it to a “measly” 520hp. RENNtech takes the already blisteringly fast AMG model, decides that it’s not fast enough, throws in bigger turbos and […] More »

CLS Shooting Brake Hits Web

CLS Shooting Brake Hits Web

Mercedes’ CLS shooting brake has finally shed the last vestiges of spy cladding for a big, fat photo shoot today. Admittedly, not much has changed since the car was revealed to be a thing at last year’s Beijing auto show. That’s not a bad thing if you’re into the sexy-station wagon look. Which we most […] More »

GSC’s Not-So-Stealthy “Stealth” C63 AMG

Stylish is good, but bad-ass is better. At least, that sounds like the approach German Special Customs took when building their kit for the CLS 63 AMG. The regular CLS is like… A finely tailored suit. It’s elegant and handsome with creases in all the right places. GSC tears the sleeves off, spikes it’s hair, […] More »

CLS63 AMG Design Process Time-Lapsed On YouTube

We all know that Mercedes-Benzes are highly complex cars that are masterpieces from the minds of designers and engineers from the company’s tech centers. Unlike the sometimes overwhelming feeds on new models and spyshots that we get on a weekly basis, the design process is not as readily available. But now, a time-lapse video has
