The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, with its slab sides and butch, safe-like lines, may appear impenetrable, but it’s not. Like every normal automobile, it’s at the mercy of small-arms fire … until you take it to Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Youtuber Shmee recently came across a Brabus 700, a tuned version of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6, in front of a London dealership. The one in the clip below is literally all wrapped up for a launch event in England before it’s shipped off to Miami to embark on the Gumball 3000 rally.
There are certain aftermarket companies that are known for their lack of restraint. After all, if you’re going to completely tear down a vehicle to customize it, why be subtle? Go big or go home. ICON, a Los-Angeles-based builder, did neither when it got its hands on a new Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG. It went to its fabrication shop, and then it tastefully dressed up the right-angled rig.
I’ve always found the Mercedes-Benz G-Class to be an attractive vehicle; its lines are straight and unapologetic. Under those butch right-angles is hardcore suspension hardware and apocalypse-proof rubber. The rig looks even better with some dirt splattered on it … downright beautiful as you’ll see in the clip after the jump.
