There are two types of Mercedes-Benz buyers in the world (as far as we’re concerned). There’s the folks who like to take advantage of attractive financing offers, and buy or lease brand new, to enjoy the latest in driving technology with the peace of mind of a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Then, there are folks who are the complete opposite. These are the guys who don’t mind driving a vehicle that’s a few years old, if it means that someone else already took the initial and largest depreciation hit. Now that we think about it, there may be a third type — or more like a “third individual.”

As you can see, the Benzo isn’t in that great of shape, but that’s the real beauty of it, because he bought this stunning machine for only $8,900! According to the video, this SL55 sported a $130,000 MSRP when new 14 years ago. Now that’s some serious depreciation.

Of course, such a massive discount doesn’t come without rhyme or reason. There are plenty of questionable issues with this SL55, such as a damaged front bumper, malfunctioning suspension, etc.
