CLK63 Horsepower Proves Too Much For These Newlweds
Maybe sitting on the back of an AMG-powered convertible and saying “punch it” wasn’t the smartest move.
In this world there are two things guaranteed to create havoc, mayhem, and terrible decisions: large gatherings of friends and alcohol. Weddings manage to combine these two catalysts of poor judgment in a way that we often wonder how deaths aren’t a more frequent occurrence at nuptial celebrations. Case in point, we have this lovely couple attempting to leave their wedding. A lovely gentleman, who we can only assume is the father of the groom, is going to whisk away the new couple on the back of his convertible.
Seems like a great idea until you notice that his drop-top is the 475 horsepower CLK63 AMG.
How nobody saw this coming, we will never understand. The moment the accelerator is nailed, the couple flips off the back like a pair of inebriated Cirque du Soleil understudies.
There are a lot of things that could have gone differently here, we will admit. The driver could have certainly taken off a lot slower despite the Groom saying “Hey, punch it,” or the couple could have been farther in the car for starters. But that misses the whole point.
This is a wedding. Everyone is happy, love is in the air, and sometimes we let our common sense slide and accidents happen. Thankfully nobody was hurt, and everyone was able to laugh about it after the fact. No harm, no foul.
Which brings us to the man who we can only assume is the father of the bride. If you watch the video, be prepared for some NSFW language as this utter tool goes stomping after the car yelling “You [redacted] idiot!” We understand that you are (rightfully) upset about the well-being of your daughter, but immediately attacking the driver instead of CHECKING ON THE BRIDE AND GROOM makes you look a petty fool.
Trust us, the driver feels awful enough without you running over to berate him while he is probably trying to tend to the kids. That is the kind of behavior that will get a man clocked in the face at a proper Irish wedding.
Also did anyone think about what kind of damage could happen to this incredible piece of German engineering? We see sequins on that dress. Did nobody consider what a trouser button, dress sequin, or — God forbid — a diamond ring would do to the paint? For us, that is the main reason this video shouldn’t exist. It doesn’t matter how much we love you, we’re not letting you destroy the finish of our sexy-ass AMG.
