2008 CLS63 AMG Racked Up Nearly 400,000 Miles

22,000 gallons of fuel. Over 40 oil changes. 80 tires. 50,000 miles per month. All of this leads up to this 2008 CLS63 AMG. Why? Because it has 395,839 miles on her. That’s 50,000 miles per year (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a lease). That makes for oil changes so often, it’s almost like it’s never had a chance to get up to operating temperature. It may very well be the highest mileage AMG I’ve ever laid eyes on.

But there’s a silver lining to this Silver Arrow. That mileage speaks highly of Mercedes’ reliability, specifically of the M156 V8 motor. We love that motor for various other reasons, and reaching that type of mileage should put lots of faith into current owners. Sadly, the rest of the car looks its age.

Air suspension looks to be shot (backed up by the evidence of “malfunction” on the gauge display), there’s a basketball-sized dent in one of the doors, and it’s even missing the passenger side rocker panel completely. It probably needs more work than it’s worth, all things considered. And for the asking price of $8,995, it may not move off the dealer lot in any hurry.
