Drag and Drift in the World’s Fastest Mercedes-AMG E63 S

The E63 S is a twin-turbo V8, all-wheel-drive monster. Weistec Engineering gave one a tune and made it a world-beater.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S is completely mental. AMG takes the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 out of its GT supercar and puts it into an executive-level family sedan. The two turbos are a unique twin-scroll design, and they spool faster then you can say boost. The E63 S AMG’s V8 cranks out power – 603 horsepower to be exact, and puts it down to all four wheels.

The secret to this AMG sedan is the subtle nature of the overall package. In a row of cars on the freeway, the E63 S AMG just blends in. And yet, it offers supercar performance. Although the styling of AMG models has become more aggressive over the years, to non-car people, this sedan is still able to hide in plain sight.

So, it makes sense that when you have one of the fastest production sedans on the market, you want even more power. Well, you’re in luck. The mad scientists at Weistec Engineering have a tuning package for your AMG.

The company will take your 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S and go to work on cracking open the factory ECU. Once they do their magic, you’ll own a world record-level drag monster. Their ECU tune adds 50 wheel horsepower and around 75 horsepower to the mid-range.

Weistec-tuned 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S

In these two videos from Weistec’s YouTube channel, you can see the record-breaking quarter-mile run of 10.849 at 126.58 mph. This is an incredible amount of speed from such a large and heavy luxury sedan. In the other video, you can marvel at the joy that is Mercedes-AMG’s party piece: Drift Mode. All AMGs are known for being able to light up tires and slide around. But the Weistec Engineering E63 S loves to burn rubber even more. Let us know what you think about this beast in the comments.
