Five Quick & Easy Ways to Get Your Mercedes-Benz Ready for Spring

A little elbow grease and a few good deep-cleaners and polishes will get your ride sparkling after months of winter driving or storage.

Winter is different for Mercedes-Benz owners around the country. In the areas that see actual snowfall, Benz owners can either face the sloppy roads or tuck the vehicle away for a few months. In areas where temperatures generally don’t lead to snowy winters, there are cooler temperatures and rain. Of course, driving in the snow or rain makes the vehicle a mess, but in many cases, keeping a car parked for three or four months can also leave the vehicle looking less-than-stellar.

In just about every case, everyone’s vehicle is in need of a thorough cleaning inside and out come spring, and no matter what portion of your Mercedes-Benz you are cleaning, we’ve done some sleuthing for the best options and found that Adam’s Polishes has the situation covered. Plus, they’re one us: a diehard M-B enthusiast and a fellow MB World forum member.

So, if you’re looking to get your Benz in head-turning shape for when the chilly weather thaws, check out our five favorite Adam’s Polishes products that will help you tackle even the worst winter mess inside and outside of your Mercedes-Benz.

Shining Up the Cabin

First up, whether winter meant heavy amounts of snow or rain, the odds are good that you have dirtied-up the carpeting in your Benz a bit. Adam’s offers a kit that is designed to remove the toughest spots from carpeting, cloth seating surfaces or any other non-leather surface without rinsing. The Multi-Use Foaming Cleaner Kit comes with the company’s powerful deep-cleaning foam, a “Cockpit Brush” and two edgeless microfiber towels.

If you have a tough spot on your carpeting, you apply the foam, scrub it with the brush and wipe it away with a dry microfiber towel. Once the area has dried, you just vacuum the carpeting to remove any loose dirt remaining.

Next, the odds are good that your Mercedes is chock full of leather and the Adam’s Deep Clean Interior Kit comes with everything that you need to keep all of that leather clean and beautiful. This kit comes with two different types of leather cleaner, a spray-on liquid that loosens up any dirt on the leather that you use first, followed up by a foam cleaner that can be used to remove any particularly stubborn marks. The kit also includes Adam’s Deep Clean Eraser that makes removing marks easier, while the edgeless microfiber towels included will remove all of the excess product.

Of course, Adam’s Polishes sells several different types of leather protectant that you can use after cleaning the leather, but for the purpose of shining up the interior after a messy winter, these two kits will knock out any unsightly marks in your Mercedes-Benz.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
