Maybe we’ve underestimated the potential of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van.

Perhaps, in all our rave over models like the new SLC preparing to take the stage in Detroit, and other hot cars in the Mercedes line-up like the S65 AMG, we’ve ignored the magnificent beauty of the cargo vehicle.

I know, sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, huh? But maybe it’s not.

The video below, posted by Automobile Magazine, certainly leads you to believe that there’s much more to explore with the Sprinter than most folks probably have ever considered. In stark contrast to how we usually see the van, the clip features videographer Sandon Voelker and fellow mountain biker Eric Jones packing up and taking the Mercedes-Benz utility van across the country.

The trip includes stops in Aspen, Colorado and Moab, Utah, with Voelker and Jones providing a bit more insight on the Sprinter’s configuration that’s bound to have you rethinking your perspective on the van.
