How the Mighty Have Fallen: Abandoned Maybach

No matter where you live, seeing an abandoned car isn’t all that uncommon. What is uncommon is seeing a Maybach worth 350k left to rot. This 57 has been languishing in a garage in Cannes for four years, and as the video shows, the locals haven’t been all that kind to it. The hood ornament is gone, and there are plenty of messages inscribed in the dust-covered paint. None of them are even as nice as “wash me,” and while I could potentially see “rich bitch” as a term of endearment, I don’t think that’s the intent here.

So the question is what the hell is the story with this car? This isn’t the first time exotic cars have been found in decrepit states—look no further than Dubai for plenty of examples—but like unhappy families, I’d guess that every story is slightly different.
