Hybrids to Take Center Stage During Mercedes-AMG Anniversary

Here’s a bit of news that escaped us somehow, although you could easily argue that it’s as big as any Mercedes-Benz news we’ve covered recently.

As part of AMG’s 50th Anniversary celebration next year, Mercedes will be introducing a number of new engines and vehicles, including a hybrid hypercar.

According to AutoEvolution, the car will be one of several new hybrid-powered cars to debut next year. The auto source also suspects that the 2019 A45 could become the first-ever mainstream AMG to feature an electric motor.

But no need to worry, die-hard performance fans, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 is fully expected to feature the same 48V setup as the inline-six engines debuting in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which will pack more than 400 horsepower.
