Race Driver Lewis Hamilton & Fuzzy Friends Thrill Ride AMG GT 4-door
In the hands of Formula 1 Champ Lewis Hamilton, the AMG GT 4-Door is just at home on the daily commute as it is on the track.
While things might be serious on track, Lewis Hamilton shows his more relaxed side in this video with the brand new AMG GT 4-Door. The premise is simple; the GT 4 door is the car that can do it all, from birthdays to track days. Stuffed animals in the car with Hamilton proves yet again that the Germans at AMG can have a sense of humor every now and then. A Formula 1 Champion can, too.
One question that’s commonly been asked is: why does the GT 4 Door need to exist when the CLS is around? That’s a fair and valid question to us. We can’t really recall the last time we drove an AMG GT and thought to ourselves, “this car is great, but you know what it needs? Two more doors.” In fact, the AMG GT was one of few 2-door only offerings with the AMG badge till now.
As well, will the GT 4-Door manage to pull off what few AMG models have done and actually appreciate in value? Perhaps it’s a future collector car? The Black series cars and the SLS models have been successful in retaining and appreciating value so far, and of course the Project One is already increased in value before being built.
Still, the ad pushes home the fact this car is an everyday driver more so than a track born performer, with the tag line, “Built for your most important race: life.” A daily driver with pricing that will likely start at the sharp end of $175,000 and exceed $200,000 with ease. Credit where it is due, high performance sedans such as the Porsche Panamera have pulled this off for years.
