Mercedes-Benz Gets Stuck Between Two Jeeps

By -

Two Jeep Wrangler owners “teach” a Mercedes-Benz owner there are consequences for poor parking.

No Mercedes-Benz vehicles were harmed in the performance of the above prank.

Make that pranks. If you look closely, you’ll see a prank within a prank. One of them appears to be on the owner of a red Mercedes-Benz GLA 250. The other is on us as viewers. Just look closely and you’ll see.

Mercedes-Benz Gets Stuck Between Two Jeeps

The footage starts by showing a red GLA parked on the line between two parking spots in front of a Best Buy store. As retaliation for such careless parking, the driver of a red Jeep Wrangler backs their rig right up next to the GLA’s driver’s door. They get it so close that there’s no way the Benz’s door will open wide enough to allow the driver to get inside.

Someone in another Wrangler – a muddy white one this time – does the same thing on the passenger side of the carelessly placed crossover. As he maneuvers his vehicle, you can catch a glimpse of a figure in a hoodie and white shoes documenting the coordinated operation on his phone.

That same person appears later in the video as the person who positioned the GLA in its unfortunate two spots spot…wearing the same hoodie and footwear. He didn’t commit to changing costumes for the prank, but he sure commits to the anger you’d expect from someone who finds themselves in the genuine version of his situation. He throws a tantrum, flailing his fists, kicking the front rubber of the Jeeps.

Then it’s time for the GLA driver to finish the prank off. Not being able to open the side doors, he lifts the rear hatch, climbs in, then manages to get himself in the driver’s seat, even if he doesn’t succeed in pulling one over on his audience.

Derek Shiekhi's father raised him on cars. As a boy, Derek accompanied his dad as he bought classics such as post-WWII GM trucks and early Ford Mustang convertibles.

After loving cars for years and getting a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Derek decided to get an associate degree in journalism. His networking put him in contact with the editor of the Austin-American Statesman newspaper, who hired him to write freelance about automotive culture and events in Austin, Texas in 2013. One particular story led to him getting a certificate for learning the foundations of road racing.

While watching TV with his parents one fateful evening, he saw a commercial that changed his life. In it, Jeep touted the Wrangler as the Texas Auto Writers Association's "SUV of Texas." Derek knew he had to join the organization if he was going to advance as an automotive writer. He joined the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in 2014 and was fortunate to meet several nice people who connected him to the representatives of several automakers and the people who could give him access to press vehicles (the first one he ever got the keys to was a Lexus LX 570). He's now a regular at TAWA's two main events: the Texas Auto Roundup in the spring and the Texas Truck Rodeo in the fall.

Over the past several years, Derek has learned how to drive off-road in various four-wheel-drive SUVs (he even camped out for two nights in a Land Rover), and driven around various tracks in hot hatches, muscle cars, and exotics. Several of his pieces, including his article about the 2015 Ford F-150 being crowned TAWA's 2014 "Truck of Texas" and his review of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, have won awards in TAWA's annual Excellence in Craft Competition. Last year, his JK Forum profile of Wagonmaster, a business that restores Jeep Wagoneers, won prizes in TAWA’s signature writing contest and its pickup- and SUV-focused Texas Truck Invitational.

In addition to writing for a variety of Internet Brands sites, including JK Forum, H-D Forums, The Mustang Source, Mustang Forums, LS1Tech, HondaTech, Jaguar Forums, YotaTech, and Ford Truck Enthusiasts. Derek also started There Will Be Cars on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
