Mercedes Benz EQS SUV is finally here. Its all-electric drivetrain churns out 536 HP and 633 lb-ft of torque in its most capablespec.

Mercedes is going through a lot of changes at the moment. Daimler recently announced that it will be rebranding itself as the more recognizable Mercedes brand. The Tri-Star brand also announced that in addition to its Maybach and AMG nameplates, the company will also electrify the Mercedes G-Wagon. More recently, Mercedes Benz unveiled the SUV version of its EQS EV. After several teasers, the battery-only Mercedes Benz EQS SUV made its debut earlier last month.

The company has been developing the SUV variant of its all-electric EQS nameplate for quite a while.  As expected, the SUV version shares its design language and its moniker with the EQS sedan. Merc’s signature black panel dominates the front end of the EQS SUV.

The car also flaunts power domes at the front even though its hood does not house an engine. We also find digital headlamps at the front and a LED light bar at the back. The door handles sit flush with the bodywork, and underneath the black wheel arch, we find a set of gorgeous 20-inch alloy wheels. Interestingly enough, Mercedes offers these rims as standard across all SUV models.

As one would expect of any Mercedes model, the interior of the SUV is a very luxurious space.

The company’s MBUX hyperscreen dominates the dashboard. The 56-inch display in the 580 variant gets an augmented reality navigation system and the latest MBUX software. Mercedes also offers a 2.3-inch instrument cluster and 12.8-inch center OLED portrait screen in the more competitively priced 450 variants of the SUV. In its more capable 580 4Matic spec, the Mercedes Benz EQS SUV gets a dual-motor setup.

The all-electric drivetrain can produce 536 HP of maximum power and 633 lb-ft of peak torque in the 580 4Matic. The power output drops down to 355 HP and 419 lb-ft of torque in the single motor rear-wheel-drive 450+ variant. According to Mercedes, customers can recharge both variants from 10% to 80% capacity in 31 minutes, thanks to its DC fast charging capability.
