Mercedes X-Class 6X6 Is a Menacing, Spec'd Out SUT

Mercedes X 350d 6X6 gets an extended subframe, an extra axle, and rides on a set of custom-made alloys.

There is no denying the fact that the Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6 is an eye-catching SUT. The six-wheeled pickup truck is capable of stealing attention away from some of the most exotic supercars on the road. Over the years, tuning companies from around the world have used the G63 AMG 6X6 as inspiration for their six-wheel reproductions.

These include the likes of Hennessey VelociRaptor 6X6 and the six-wheeled Bronco by Maxlider Brothers Customs. Recently a tuner decided to give Merc’s limited-run luxury pickup a similar treatment. This Mercedes Benz X-Class 6X6 was sold by Classic Youngtimers Consultancy, which is a Koperslagerstraat, Netherlands-based car auction website.

Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6 ended its production back in 2015, and as a result of Daimler’s cost-cutting measures, the production of X-Class is scheduled to end this month. Safe to say, this Mercedes X-Class 6X6 is quite a rare sight, but we doubt if that will be enough to fetch the same kind of money as its larger siblings like the Brabus Mercedes AMG G63 6X6.

Unlike other Mercedes six-wheelers, this X 350d 6X6 does not feature many upgrades. The pickup truck’s interior is largely stock, and the powerplant also remains unmodified, even with the added weight of a custom subframe and a third axle. Under the hood of this truck, we find a stock 3-liter turbocharged diesel V6 motor which produced 255 HP of power and 406 lb-ft of peak torque in its factory tune.

The motor comes made to a 7-speed automatic transmission, and the entire cab has been lifted by around 4 inches. The pickup sports a rich metallic Brown paint job that is offset by matte black fenders, which have been designed to accommodate its giant wheels. The truck rides on a set of six custom-made rims that are wrapped in all-terrain tires.

The front-end flaunts a Mercedes GTR grille, and we find “6 Wheeler” decals on the tailgate. The flatbed is lined with diamond pattern steel and gets Carlex Designs’ tubular metal bar. The pickup truck was built last year and was sold with just 6548 miles on the odometer. This 350D six-wheeler is quite a remarkable SUT, and we reckon it now belongs to a very happy customer.
