Evolution of the classic AMG wheels look awesome, and will be exclusive to the all-new GT 4-Door Coupe.

Once upon a time, Mercedes-AMG introduced a set of wheels that would grace a number of their greatest hits of the Nineties: the Monoblock. The fat five-spoke wheels gave whatever car wore them a muscular vibe no other wheel ever could.

Then, they disappeared, only to emerge decades later with the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which made its world debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. CarScoops happened to be at the show, coming across the 2020s version of the ’90s classic.

The new version of the AMG Monoblock is bigger and fatter than ever at 20 inches of silver or flat black with silver trim goodness, in line with current wheel/tire trends. And like those old wheels of yore, the new Monoblocks make the 630-horse, twin-turbo GT 4-Door Coupe a seriously badass ride.

If you were hoping other AMGs would have the new Monoblock, we have some sad news: the new wheels are exclusive to the GT 4-Door Coupe. Better to have it on one car than not at all, though.
