New Mercedes GLC Looks Great Off-Road

The Mercedes GLK was never a bad off-road machine, but when it gets reborn next year as the GLC, it is coming with a few new goodies that make it a truly off-road capable rig. Part of that kit is a new adjustable suspension. You can see just how good this new SUV is in the video below that shows a lightly camouflaged model trekking across some substantial terrain. This testing ground has the Mercedes lifting every wheel at least 16 inches to test flex and body strength; then there is the wild banking that is nearly a 30-degree slope, based on the in-car software display; and there is the ever important water hazard to contend with too. It is all very impressive, but there is one small issue. As far as we can find out so far, the U.S. version of the GLC won’t be coming with the adjustable suspension.

But does it matter?

The new GLC will still be great off-road, even if it’s not as good as its European cousin. The question is, will it be good enough? We want your input on this, if you don’t mind. Do you want the fancy adjustable suspension in your GLC, or do you even care? Most owners probably won’t take this thing into the dirt at all, so I think its factory capabilities should be plenty, but I might be wrong. Sound off in the forum to let us know if this feature is important to you or not. Will you take your GLC off-road? Are you more likely to go off-road if you had the extra equipment? Could you care less about taking your GLC off-road at all?

Let us hear your thoughts. Maybe Mercedes will keep a close eye on the thread and make a real decision based on our input.
