Mercedes-Benz S-Class Design

Watch this Mercedes-Benz S-Class walk-around video and you’ll discover they tried to resemble the qualities of a boat in the exterior design. A boat? Interesting.

When I think of “boaty” cars, I think of Lincolns and Cadillacs of the ’70s … I don’t want to think of an S-Class as a boat. The “boaty” design touches are nice; just don’t tell us they’re inspired by boats’ bows rising out of the water upon takeoff. Lincoln is struggling right now because, like me, when most people think of Lincolns, they think of land yachts.

Mercedes, stick to talking about how your A-pillars keep the side windows dry when driving in rainy conditions on the autobahn at 150 kph (93 mph).
