SLS AMG GT3 tearing through its testing phases

With the entry of the another contender into FIA’s GT3 line up, the sport has just been made classier and more competitive. Mercedes-Benz is currently fine tuning the 2011 SLS AMG GT3 to be battle once the next season begins.

As with any Mercedes-Benz fan, you’re likely waiting for news of how much it would cost you to own a GT3. Well, the most standard version of the GT3 fetches around 397,460 euros, which is roughly around $550,000, including 19 percent Value Added Tax. Of course, it’s a far cry from what appears in this video, which is receiving full factory support and undergoing tons of testing to make it suitable for the racetrack. The camera crew was talented enough to capture around 21 minutes of the GT3 tearing through the track. You’ll notice that there isn’t much ambient noise, except for the sound of the V8 running at wide open throttle.

Of course, if you’re a privateer racer, you can directly order the GT3 and have it shipped right to your doorstep. The thing is you have to place your order as soon as possible. Even if you order right now, you won’t be holding the keys to your GT3 until February of next year.
