Swedish Company Dazzles With Pagoda SL Remake
If you’re fan of classic Mercedes-Benz retro conversions, they just don’t get much hotter than this computer-generated rendering. Well, aside from the actual car itself, which is in the works.
The classic remake is the creation of the Swedish design company, Zolland. Birthed from the fifth-generation SL-Class, the retro Mercedes picks up its design cues from the W113 built from 1963 to 1971, also known as the “Pagoda” SL.
As highlighted in a Motor Authority report, this stunning piece of artwork will be brought to life from a donor 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG with all the mechanical hardware kept intact, including that 525-horsepower V8. The exterior, however, will undergo a complete makeover featuring a new front section, lower windshield, and fender flairs. Zolland will even be replacing the SL63’s retractable hardtop with a convertible soft-top.
How’s that for a modern take on a classic throwback?
