Most of the time with futuristic concepts like these, the technology they fill these things with is total BS. I mean, BMW’s got flying police concept is a drone that stops speeders with an EMP blast. Come on. That’s like giving a bike-cop a rocket launcher. Mercedes is a little bit more grounded in their execution. The most far out thing they’ve got going is the “Terra -Scan” technology which scans the surrounding landscape and adjusts suspension accordingly. That sounds pretty ridiculous, but the truth is that the technology exists and has been used since 2003. SAE systems equipped two Bowler Wildcats with systems that do exactly this. Actually they go one step further and drive themselves. There’s no reason we couldn’t see this on some far-future special edition version of the G-Class.
