The Meaning Behind the Three-Pointed Star and 9 Other Auto Logos

I’ve been asked on more than one occasion what certain car logos mean. People wonder about the odd shapes and symbols that adorn the front of some of our favorite brands. As Mercedes lovers, I am certain that all of you know that the three-pointed star refers to land, sea, and air, but how well do you know other car logos?

Car Throttle recently posted up a video that takes a more in-depth look at the meanings behind brands like Audi, Subaru, Ferrari, and more. I even learned a few things, and I do this sort of stuff for a living. Like I had no idea that Alfa Romeo’s dragon was spitting out a man; I just thought it was breathing really odd-looking fire.
