This Might Be The Lowest Mileage W210 E55 AMG WE’ve Ever Come Across

With just a tick over a thousand miles, this E55 is a time capsule. But it didn’t live a pampered life.
We so often hear stories of ultra low mileage cars. It’s not thing new. The usual story goes; “car was bought by a collector or dealership owner and tucked away for perpetuity.” But this E55 is different.
HotCars reports this W210 was purchased, driven a handful of miles and then stored in a basement, which we presume is a lower level car garage. From there it sits neglected, covered in dust and a bit of grime. After all, almost 20 years pass by before its next shot at life.
Flip over the calendar a few pages to 2018, and we find there’s an update. The car has been brought out of storage for some service and to fix a rattle. That’s where this car’s story has a turning point. The owner never returned to pick up the car and so it sat outside for a half decade. Low mileage. Rare. A car that’s meant to be driven. And this one just can’t catch a break.

It makes you wonder why something like this could be abandoned for simple issues. A Rattle wouldn’t stop us from driving it. And surely anyone reading this would drive the wheels off it, too. Right? Well that’s the thing. A careful look at the Carfax from Broad Arrow Auctions shows this car was owned by a corporation, not an individual.
What was the corporation? Who would be allowed to drive it? Clearly not many as it barely racked up 4 miles each year. But, since it didn’t have a dedicate owner, it didn’t have a dedicated caretaker, either. An interesting succession of events to arrive where we are at, today.
And where we are at is unique. The opportunity to buy a time capsule E55. A thorough restoration took place in 2024, replacing the original ties and also addressing a sagging headliner. Otherwise, the originality of the car is preserved beautifully, with Brilliant Silver Metallic paint accenting the car’s Sacco-designed contours. It’s like new inside, too with black leather greeting you as though it was fresh from the showroom floor.
