AMG models are known for all-out grunt. They deploy an assault on the pavement through their tires, and re-define what you thought you knew about powerful cars, and torque in general. So what happens when you put six of them together for a drag race? You’ll find out, as 2,983 horsepower is let go all at once.

The six cars taking part in the noise fest below range from the 4-cylinder A45 AMG, all the way up to the V12 S65 coupe. In between, they have the V6 SLK43 AMG, the C63 AMG, the AMG GT, and the GLE 63.

Of the bunch, the SLK43 is the runt of the pack. It’s only an AMG by name, rather than a proper one-man/one-machine V8 or V12 monster. It’s also only the second AMG model ever to be available with a V6, with the C32 being the first.

Two different V8 motors are available from AMG these days, with the twin-turbo 4.0 represented in the C63 and the GT, and the monstrous 5.5 twin-turbo V8 in the GLE63 AMG. Rounding out the range is the biggest motor available, the 6.0 twin-turbo V12 in the S65 AMG coupe.

With nearly 3,000 horses ready to escape, CarWow lines all six cars up for the ultimate Affalterbach drag race. There’s a combination of all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive, so we know which cars will launch off the line best. Some cars are lighter, and have a smaller hole to punch in the air, but have less power. And the GLE has the biggest V8, but is also one of the heaviest.

Enough talking and more action! Check out the drag race below, then let us know your thoughts.
