Matt Farah Tests Out Vivid Racing’s CLA45 AMG

When I first drove the new Mercedes CLA45 AMG, I wasn’t all that impressed. I had just gotten out of the Subaru STI, and the new Golf R, and both of those were faster, had better feel, and had an interior quality that their prices demand. The CLA45 AMG, though, not so much. Despite supposedly having the most horsepower out of them all, the CLA45 AMG just felt a bit slow and cheap.

With that said, many others had the same impression with the car. It’s fun, it’s semi fast, but it’s just not up to the standards of the other two. To rectify that, Vivid Racing has done quite a lot to make the CLA45 AMG much more fun.

Recently, Vivid sent their 425-horsepower CLA45 AMG to Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire for a test run on Latigo Canyon Road. Vivid’s CLA has a new ECU Flash, a turbo-back exhaust with no cats, a set of KW Variant Three Coilovers, new brakes, and a Revosport aero kit. On the outside, it looks much meaner than before, but does it solve the overall lack of fun in the car? Just press play on the video below to find out.
