Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe Unwrapping

This brand new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe gets unwrapped before our eyes, after which we’re treated to the growl of its supercharged V8.

Following a bit of a brief hiatus, the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe returned to the lineup in 2024, sharing much of its DNA with the SL. However, it’s also getting a slightly revamp for 2025 with the addition of GT43, GT63 Pro, and GT63 S E Performance, giving customers an array of not only trim level options, but also, powertrains. Of course, this is a special car no matter which one you go for, which is why it’s a pretty exciting experience to see this Mercedes-AMG GT coupe get unwrapped – literally.

In this video, we get to see precisely that, with each and every little piece of protective wrapping being removed by hand in a rather satisfying scene. After that process is finished, the car is fired up, at which point we get a nice treat in the form of its growling, deep toned, twin-turbocharged V8.

It’s just one of a bevy of powertrains available in the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe, which start with the GT43 and its turbocharged four-cylinder, which cranks out 416 horsepower. Move up to the GT55 and GT63 and you’ll get the aforementioned twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that makes either 469 or 577 horsepower, respectively, while the GT63 Pro gets even more at 603 raging ponies. Then there’s the spectacular new GT63 S E Performance, which adds an electric motor to generate a combined 805 horsepower. Regardless, all of these powerplants get a nine-speed gearbox to back them up.

As one might imagine, all of this leads to some impressive performance figures. The base GT43 will do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, but the GT63 and GT63 Pro are expected to accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. Then there’s the range-topping GT63 S E Performance, which M-B says will do 0-60 in a mere 2.7 seconds, though in real-world testing, we imagine all of these figures will be slightly lower. In any event, we’ll know just how quick the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is shortly, once they begin populating dealer lots.
