Woman Rolls New Mercedes While on Dealer Test Drive
It had to be a perfect mixture of pure luck (bad, in this case) and physics to get this to happen. In Arlington, Virginia recently, a woman taking a new GLE out for a test drive managed to completely miss the brake pedal, and instead, floored it. Irony being the cruel mistress that it is, she not only rolled the brand new GLE on its side, but did so after hitting her own vehicle. In total, she hit three vehicles. Local firefighters and police were on-scene shortly after the crash occurred.
A salesman was inside the vehicle when it crashed, but both the driver and the salesmen are reportedly fine. Luckily, no one was standing where the SUV finally came to a stop, and one of the cars prevented it from smashing into the showroom. However, with three cars hit, the paperwork headaches are probably just about to start. Its anyone’s guess as to how this gets filed as a claim to an insurance company, or who will actually be held liable. Maybe it goes back to the old saying of: “You break it, you buy it.”
