None were ever initially sold in North America. They were never emission qualified, crash tested or otherwise certified for sale in North America. That has been the biggest barrier in currently importing the surviving examples from Europe and Japan.
Have some "sneaked in?" Apparently so. According to another member, there is a rear-ended wrecked Evo II in Western Canada. There are also racing (non-streetable) versions in Florida.

EvoI in Vancouver, BC
I've verified this car myself. It is a genuine 190E 2.5-16 Evolution I. However it is in poor condition at best. hits at both ends, quite a bit of rust, adjustable suspension is non functioning. the car is a daily driver, but would been a lot of work to bring it up to snuff.
