standart economy swtich?

Hi,

In a few posts I read people refering to a "economy meter" and a switch for selecting standard/sport or economy mode.
I have a 1991 2.6 and have looked everywhere but could not notice the economy meter or the standard-economy switch!

Any idea where it may be located?

PS: I bought the car a week back, it's a my first car & first merc and I just discovered that it has a spearker in the door too :-))

if you have automatic transmission the switch is right next to the selector on the center console.

This is one of those situations, if you don't see them - they're not installed.

The "economy gauge" would be in the left side cluster along with the fuel, temp and oil pressure gauges. It's merely a vacuum gauge that is reading the manifold pressure.

The switch would be console mounted near the shfiter. It's purpose was to slightly vary the rpm point that would shift the transmission. The faster the car got into 4th gear, presumably the better the MPG.

hmmm, I don't see it so I guess it did not come with my 1991 2.6 auto.
