Im ready to purchase tires for my 1991 190 2.3. Any steer on good tire values would be welcome.
In talking with NTB they said that tires for a car this old are getting harder to come by....

I just go to tirerack and see what they have. Just remove the ones I don't want... I picked up some Generals a few months ago, so far everything is ok.

1st off - don't go to NTB. Tirerack or tires-easy.com is going to be your best place for tires and a large variety. Tirerack also offers different wheel and tire options based on your year and model.

Tires are tires. You can run a 205 width on the stock 15 hole. Don't let any one con you into thinking only one size tire fits one vehicle.
Plus you get an additional 20mm of tire coverage on the ground by switching up from 185 to 205. Generally i run 205/50 (or 55) 15's on the stock set of tires to get some better width.
