suspension

Hello!
Do w124 rearsuspension fit a 190E, I wonder because I have 2 new ones. Its to my fathers car.
Thanks
Thomas

The rear subframe will not fit. There are W124 parts that can replace the W201 pieces (brakes, sway bars, links), but you cannot swap subframes.

Thank you!
Perhaps the shocks also fit, they look the same outside. Jumpinglength I think is longer at W124:s. Mybe possible to change that length.

The front shocks (struts) are the same. Should fit fine. Rear are a bit longer, as you note.

While I would caution against swapping parts without checking to verify that the MB part numbers are identical, the W201 2.6L front struts may be the same as the 6 cylinder W124's, but I doubt if the 4 cylinder models are interchangeable.

I just checked part numbers.

Front struts on 2.6 and 2.3 190E are interchangeable (depending on who's struts you are using). Also the W124 (4-cylinder and 6-cylinder) use these same struts.

In the rear, the 4-cylinder W124 uses the same shocks as the 4-cylinder AND 6-cylinder W201, but the 6-cylinder W124 uses a different shock.

Go figure.

Not really surprising since one of the engineering decisions made when planning out the W201 was to be parts compatible with some other models. That was one of the priciple reasons why the W201 didn't end up as a FWD, which was being seriously considered at the time.
