Newbie to W201s. Is There a Non-AMG 190E 3.2?
I just saw a 1991 190E 3.2 with only 87,000 miles on it listed for sale. I've heard of the 190E AMG 3.2 but never heard of one that's not an AMG. Can anybody educate me on this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The 190 is very popular for engine swaps. When the 190 was new I believe AMG was still an independent tuner company so it could have been upgraded after it left the showroom or, it could be a backyard swap with a different model MB.

Thanks insame1. I've emailed the seller asking them if that's the original engine but haven't heard back yet. For the price they're asking, I'm guessing it's a backyard swap and I'll likely pass. Just looking for another daily driver to add to my garage.

no, only Carlsson and Brabus, C32 with M112 with 3.2 Litre was later in W202 body style around 96
You might have seen a oddball badge that someone just stuck on their car.

First AMG has been working on Benzs since they started. The did make a 3.2 AMG 190e. Also the c32 was a w203 not a 202.

yes we all know that AMG has been involved with Mercedes since the 70's
There was not a series production 3.2L AMG 190E, You are correct the C32 was a W203, the one I was thinking about was the C36 which was a W202
Either way, the only hot 190's in those days were the cosworth head 2.3 16V and the 2.5 evolution that was a euro market only
