New to me 190E 2.6
I just acquired a new to me 1989 190E 2.6. It looks to be in great shape, cosmetically and mechanically. However, it has a nasty issue where it sometimes stalls and dies when slowing down or idles rough and dies. PO has tested the injectors, found to be fine, replaced fuel distributor, fuel accumulator, fuel pump relay, cleaned the air metering device, replaced EHA valve, and cold start valve. he also put in a new voltage regulator but it was not the bosch brand.
Where do we go from here? Great car on the highway, just rough idle and dies intermittently, more so at cold start.
I neglected to ask if he had done sparks, distributor, rotor recently. Is this more an ignition problem or a vacuum problem?

G's + 190
Did you change the fuel filter? If it's clogged/dirty, then the fuel pump will be working extra hard to feed fuel to the engine. When you come off the gas pedal, there may not be sufficient pressure at low RPM to draw fuel through a dirty filter.
An easy item to address, but important. Cheap too. Try it.
Obviously all elements in the engine bay are important - especially on older cars, they don't have the technology to compensate/adjust too much. Cap/rotor/wires/spark plugs are all important and cheap to do.

Voltage regulator in the back of the alternator. Change it if you not sure when it was replaced last. Replace the ovp at the same time.

The first thing I do when I buy a 190 is replace all of the vacuum lines. All of them. You will be surprised what under 10 bucks and an hour or so will do for the car.
