Recaro rear seat into a 1992 sportline

Hello,
I happened to find a black leather recaro back seat from a 2,3 16v cosworth. It would fit my sportline front seats perfect, so I bought it. But now I am having huge problems fitting it into the car! The back part went on its place no problem but getting the sitting part on its place seems to be impossible!! It just doesn't seem to fit like it just doesn't go deep enough. Almost feels like the trunk wall is too close?? Are there different configurations in these cars? Any infromation would be appreciated because I am truly lost with this problem..
Thanks!

The doner car was apparently a '85 and mine is a 92. Is this the problem?
Are there different kinds of seatbelts for these seats or are they all the same? It feels like these seats would need longer seatbelt reciever ends for them to reach through the gaps in the seat.

What can be the difference between these two cars (1985 2,3 16v cosworth and 1992 1.8 sportline) that makes the sitting part of the rear seat not fit?

Seat belt would be the only thing that I can think of that would be different. Are you in the US? An 85 16v would be a euro car. Crash safety standards changed quite a bit too so the buckles could be a completely different design.
