MBfinatic 08-05-2012 04:24 PM

BUMP! Anyone make a kit that isnt fiberglass?

MBfinatic 09-02-2012 10:14 AM

Has anyone had problems with fitment?

MB_Fahrer 09-21-2012 08:28 PM

I can't remember where I bought my EVO II kit, but to get it properly fitted (read: for a race car, not a show car) the body shop wanted around $25k...

MBfinatic 09-21-2012 08:33 PM

25k to fit it? I just want it to fit pretty decent.

MB_Fahrer 09-21-2012 10:03 PM

You have to remember that you're replacing basically half the car. The bodykit consists of 16 pieces: bumpers, side-skirts, front and rear fender flares, lower door claddings, and spoiler. At least the kit I bought was pretty bad. They spent forever just trying to straighten out the pieces--even going so far as to use some aluminum bracing on the backsides. It's really a shame that most of these kits are such poor quality. If I were you, spend some time googling around to find out what the "best" kit is from what people say.

For future reference, Extreme Dimensions might have bodykits for the 201s, might be worth checking them out.

I saw there version of the EVO 2 for about 1k. I have a feeling the fitment is going to be terrible..

Actually ED has really good fitment. I use their kit on my 240sx and it fits perfectly.

You just have to know how to put a body kit on a car really, I've done it so many times its like second nature.

GuamE320 12-22-2012 10:48 PM

Are there any used EVO body parts?

As a happy owner of the real evo2 I need rear spoiler and front bumper.

How is THAT considered good fitment? Sorry but it looks like it's velcro'd on, flexing and completely misaligned.

Maybe a bit late, however for any new users: http://topbodykit.co.uk/xcat/379/Mercedes/no-limit
All moulding forms were rebuilded recently and fitting is very good.

Did you end up buying this kit? Or has anyone?

I’d also like to know. Definitely considering this topbodykit. From the pics fit looks good. Anyone else on the forum have recent installation experience. Any info is much appreciated🙂

Anythings better than extreme dimensions, I have that kit.. garbage.. guarantee the topbodykit is worth its money.

Thanks!

U may find it at Andy's auto sports USA
or there is one company top body kit in the UK which makes and supplies
i was looking to fit the wing spoiler on my 190D, but according to Andy's, it will not fit on my car

I am about to pull the trigger on a full bodykit from Topbodykit.co.uk - anyone had any experience with their parts?

190Efan 07-08-2020 01:36 PM

It's my understanding that these body kits don't have the best reputation. They're poorly made and they don't fit very well.
