A Young Dreamer Hoping to Honour My Grandad with a 190E
Hi everyone, I hope it’s okay to post this here—my name’s Samuel socha , I’m 14 years old (turning 15 soon), and I’ve been obsessed with the Mercedes 190E ever since I learned my late grandad in Poland used to drive one. Sadly, he passed away before I was born, so I never got to know him or experience the car that meant so much to him. The 190E has become more than just a dream car for me—it’s a link to my roots and a way to honour my grandad’s memory. I recently found a beautiful one for sale in Poland for around 25,000 PLN (roughly £5,000). It’s completely out of my price range, but I’ve started a GoFundMe in the hope that the car community might help me get one step closer to this dream. I know it’s a big ask, but even just sharing my story, offering advice, or encouragement would mean the world to me. I’ve got a long road ahead, but I believe with passion and persistence, this could become a reality. Your grandfather had great taste in cars and so do you. Be sure and have someone who knows the 190E model well inspect any 190E you would like to buy to make sure that there are no hidden and costly repairs. Be sure to also inspect for rust issues as the newest 190Es are now 32 years old.. I wish you well on your journey. Nice story, and a nice 190E you found in Poland. Also check out the "Mercedes 190E Owners Club" on facebook. It appears to be based in Europe and quite often I see nice cars for sale there.

would like to hear what you're doing to earn the cash to make this acquisition real, beyond crowd sourcing cash with go fund me. Mowing lawns, side jobs? I'm sure you've got things lined up.

You can also try www.mercedes-190.co.uk. They're a 190E forum that's based in the U.K. They would be a good source for locating 190E parts that would be closer to home for you. Whatever car you decide on, be sure and take someone with you to see the car who is an expert on 190Es who'll be able to spot costly repairs lurking under shinny paint. The one you've sent pictures of looks very nice from the outside but you need to check underneath to be sure here's nothing hiding under the surface. Once you get your car, every time you drive it you'll be paying tribute to your grandfather. I think that's pretty great. Of course you'll always be able to ask us for help with maintaining your 190E.
